Airside Security Awareness Training 11.2.6.2

All airport staff who require an airside staff pass (that is who require access to the Security Restricted Area) must first attend an airside Security Awareness Training course.

Our aviation instructor (Philip Beggs), is certified by the IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) and all courses presented have been accredited by the IAA ensuring all course content and legislation is fully upto date.

This course will cover the following topics.

  • Knowledge of previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation
  • Awareness of the relevant legal requirements
  • Knowledge of the objectives and organisation of aviation security
  • screening checkpoint and the screening process
  • Awareness of access control and relevant screening procedures
  • Knowledge of airport identification cards used at the airport
  • Knowledge of reporting procedures
  • Ability to respond appropriately to security related incidents

Who is this course designed for?

All staff who hold/require an Airside Airport Identification Card (AIC) or a Crew Identification card and all staff employed by airport operators (including staff working in the retail outlets), aircraft operators, catering and cleaning and cargo companies and any other agencies including handling agent personnel operating on their behalf who may or may not be directly engaged in aviation security tasks but require airside access.

Course duration & Fee.

The course takes approximately 3 hours and costs 50 Euro per person.

 On successful completion of the course participants will be awarded an airside Security Awareness Training certificate 11.2.6.2 which is valid for 5 years.
