Abrasive Wheel Training

Abrasive Wheel Training is provided by WD Training Centre in our new furbished modern Dublin centre, as well as on client premises throughout Ireland. Abrasive wheel training is required for all individuals operative abrasive wheel machinery, these include construction workers operating concrete cutters as well as engineers, mechanics and other workers operating angle grinders and bench grinders.

This course will cover the following topics.

  • Abrasive wheels regulations
  • Identifying the hazards working with abrasive wheels
  • Selecting the correct wheel for the job
  • Inspection & testing of abrasive wheels
  • Guarding of grinding and cutting operations
  • Dressing and truing of abrasive wheels
  • Functions of components, flanges, blotters etc
  • Differences between grinding and cutting operations
  • Safe mounting of the abrasive wheel

Who is this course designed for?

Anyone working or wishing to work with abrasive wheel machinery, this includes con saws for the construction industry, as well as any other individuals operating bench grinders or angle grinders for metals

Course duration & Fee.

The course consists of demonstration and interactive practice activities over 3 hours in the classroom and costs 40 Euro.

On successful completion of our abrasive wheel training course, trainees will receive certification that is valid for a period of 3 years in accordance with HSA guidelines.
