Occupational First Aid Training Course

The FETAC level 5 Occupational First Aid training course is designed to provide the learner with the understanding, knowledge and practical skills required to provide and coordinate first aid in the workplace in compliance with the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2007 and its accompanying Regulations and Guidelines.

The course will cover the following topics.

  • First Aid in the Workplace
  • Patient Assessment
  • Respiratory Emergencies
  • Cardiac First Response including defibrillation
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Altered levels of consciousness
  • Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Burns and scalds
  • Chemicals and Electrical Shock Injuries

Who is this course designed for?

Anyone who wants to be trained and certified as an Occupational First Aider and deliver first aid care. Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, there is a requirement on employers based on a risk assessment to have a sufficient number of occupational first aiders trained and deployed in the workplace.

Course duration & Fee.

Approximiately 3 days and costs  250 Euro

Upon successful completion of this 3 day course a FETAC level 5 Occupational First Aid  certificate will be issued which will be valid for 2 years.
